Inevitably, the next question is “Really? Where do you work?” and then I have say, “Well, I’m a former chef who still works in the restaurant business…”
It’s complicated and drives me crazy, especially because the next question is always, “Do you miss it?” The answer is “yes and no”. Obviously, I don’t miss the day to day of it all that much, or I’d still be doing it. But I still love cooking and sharing that passion with others, and thus, Former Chef was born in 2008.
My main goal here is to show people, step by step, how easy cooking can be. In addition, I have a small garden, so sometimes I write a bit about being an urban gardener and helping friends with their chickens. Finally, I’m completely obsessed with travel to far flung corners of the globe. You can see my travelogues (much of them related to food, of course) at wired2theworld, one of the web’s longest continuously running travel blogs (since 1998).
